Relocated from England to Victoria in 2009, with over 30 years’ experience in the asbestos industry S.S.M Asbestos Removal has an established customer base, which is rapidly expanding.
We carry out all projects to the same high standard regardless of size and location. Also, minor demolition work is undertaken e.g removal of garages, shed, bathroom/kitchen clear outs etc.
Experienced in all types of asbestos removal, contracts management and asbestos auditing/surveying. I started work for an asbestos company in the UK in 1996. I was quickly promoted to site supervisor. In this position, I was able to demonstrate my man management skills along with being able to work as part of the team.
The techniques used for Asbestos removal in the UK are far more advanced than here in Australia. I am keen to continue to transfer the methods I used in the UK to my practice in Victoria and most recently Weatern Australia. I have a strong emphasis on health and safety and offer high-quality work at competitive prices regardless of the size or location of the job

- In 2004 I was again promoted to contracts manager of the asbestos division in a large construction and demolition company.
- Prior to emigrating to Australia, I was employed as a Senior Supervisor for an ‘Asbestos and Thermal Insulation Company’ in the U.K.
- As a supervisor I have demonstrated my ability to be responsible for ensuring staff training and medical certificates are up to date and that staff are working within the appropriate regulations and guidelines. I have also completed the P402 Asbestos surveying course and I have some experience in this area.
- I arrived to Victoria Australia in 2009 and decided to set up my own company concentrating on non-friable asbestos as the majority of work in my local area consists of Class B work. In 2016 I was successful in my Class A license application broadening the focus of the company, and further utalising my skills from the UK here in Victoria.
- In 2024 I obtained my B class Asbestos Removal License in NSW, undertaking a large project for a forestry company in Southern NSW. In 2025 the regulation change which meant that all of our asbestos removal licences are mutually recognised in all States.
- In 2025 I undertook and gained the International Proficiency Certificate – IP402 Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings.
- In 2025 I completed NAT10913005 Mould Testing Technician Course providing both the Surveying and Sampling services
- Accredited Occupational Health and Safety Management system (ISO45001) audited both internally and externally annually, accredited since 2016.
- SSM Asbestos removal is fully licensed and able to collect, transport and dispose of waste for any projects that have been completed by homeowners.
- Also available to complete demolition work such as sheds, garages, kitchens, bathrooms etc.
- In 2026 we fully relocated to Western Australia and are now based in North Perth, covering all of WA.
- Recent projects include asbestos removal at hospitals and schools, as well as working for local builders and insurance companies.
- Asbestos removal work undertaken for Parks Victoria (while in VIC we were the preferred contractor for the Gippsland region)
